Cigar Review These Cuban cigars have similar strength to the Hoyo de Monterrey Doble Coronas. These Epicures have a herbal flavored background perfectly combined with a woody cigar taste that makes this Cuban cigar quite special. The only negative thing about this Cuban cigar is that it lacks that ageing potential some other cigars have, but on the other hand, when just three years old, it is one of the best Cuban cigars you can find of that age.

Hoyo de Monterrey was established by Jose Gener in 1865, the name roughly means "valley of Monterrey," a particularly fertile site in the Vuelta Abajo, which had been farmed by Gener since at least 1860. This Cuban cigar brand offers a lighter flavour and a wide range of sizes, the largest of which are much celebrated.
