Cigar Review The Hoyo de Monterrey Grand Epicure Limited Edition 2013 has a fat ring of 55 with a typically sweeter taset. The Edición Limitada cigars are hand rolled by expert rollers and the wrapper, filler and binder leaves come from selected plants from the Vuelta Abajo plantations and aged for a minimum of 2 years.
This fine Cuban cigar has a stunning chocolate wrapper, very typical for the limited edition Cubans and has a darker color. The wrapper leaves smell of chocolate aroma with a nice oily look.
The Hoyo de Monterrey Grand Epicure starts with great chocolaty flavor, together with some coffee and creamy aroma. Some notes of spice in the beginning turn into sweet wood and sweet leather, citrus and even vanilla after the first third and ends with more earthiness, leather and roasted coffee. An amazing Cuban cigar.

Hoyo de Monterrey was established by Jose Gener in 1865, the name roughly means "valley of Monterrey," a particularly fertile site in the Vuelta Abajo, which had been farmed by Gener since at least 1860. This Cuban cigar brand offers a lighter flavour and a wide range of sizes, the largest of which are much celebrated.
